I nearly kissed a man I barely know– and I wish I had kissed him because now it’ll be all I’ll think about. But there’s more to Aiden then Abby knows, and when the truth comes out, their new romance is put to the test, as the two find out if true love really can conquer all. Intimate conversations lead to steamy kisses and undeniable passion. Sparks fly as Aiden and Abby work, and play, side by side. He helps Abby with the restaurant in exchange for her help in tackling the items on his list. After years of focusing on his sister’s well-being, he’s blindsided by his intense attraction to the gorgeous, free-spirited Abby.Īiden might not know much about chilling out, but he’s excellent at striking deals. Workaholic Aiden Aldridge has been sent to Silver Island on a work-free vacation, armed with a “Let Loose List,” and ordered to get a life by the much-younger sister he raised after the death of their parents. When chef Abby de Messiéres returns to Silver Island with her sister to get their late mother’s affairs in order, she expected to inherit her mother’s bistro along with their childhood home, not to discover a half sister they never knew existed, and a handsome vacationer camped out on her mother’s patio.

I have loved these characters from the very beginning and even though I once thought myself as not a fan of anything having to do with the fae, this series completely changed my mind.įrom the very first page it was obvious this series stood out. One that will keep me rapidly turning the pages and engaged the whole way through. I always know when I open an Alex Craft book I am going to get one heck of an action packed adventure. And finally, she ends up with still not telling you, you'll have to read the book and see (#sorrynotsorry) If not, you should definitely start (and don't stop when the stories get predictable and normal, it's worth reading through those and getting to this book). If you're reading the review, you probably read the series. I can't believe this book had some sort of closure! Not the end of the series (really hope so) but at least we got something and it's appreciated. Yup, I was pretending to work while I was reading the book.ĭon't know what that says about my work ethic but you know what that says about this book? But after about one hour after I started, I kept thinking about the book and what will happen. Problem was, I had to get to work (and, so nice of me, I did). It was a good read 'til about 80%, then it became really good and, at about 91%, I couldn't put it down. Ok, so let me tell you a story (a short one this time, I promise!). GoGo Xpress' small pouch is equivalent to J&T Express' medium pouch, hence the huge difference of their shipping fees.
So, this book is very much a cautionary tale that still speaks to us today. We see it coming but we keep putting one foot in front of the other in the same direction. We're completely unable to find the political will to save ourselves. There were passages in here that reminded me a lot of what is going on in the U. We have only the doorman Povondra to carry us through the whole novel and supply the clippings to tell us the story of the rise of the newts and the fall of mankind due to his greed and political maneuvering. It was a fun chapter, but really doesn't quite belong. The chapter with the starlet in the beginning of the book seems more like a short story imbedded in the text because she doesn't really impact the rest of the story. The chapters barely mesh as they cobble together the story of the rise of the newts. It's hard to see this as a novel in the sense of what we think of one today. It took me a while because I was buried under a project at work that was eating my brain for the last three weeks. Marrying the slimy and carnivalesque, Fire and Fury occasionally reads like a parody of New Journalism with its elaborate scene-setting omniscient narrator (who at one point appears to refer to himself in the third person as "the journalist") some grand, misquoted Shakespeare and a colorful vocabulary that swings from SAT words (apogee, persiflage) to bro slang (man crush, douchebag). And if Wolff misidentifies some facts here and there - titles, years, peripheral people - that is the boring stuff. That is all according to Michael Wolff's seamy, gossipy, vindictive new book, Fire and Fury: Inside The Trump White House, an account of Trump's first year in office. I'll get all the good stuff out of the way first: President Trump likes to eat cheeseburgers in bed his hair is the result of scalp reduction surgery and deft, even architectural, styling he has three TVs in his bedroom his advisers speculate about whether or not he can read Steve Bannon called Ivanka "dumb as a brick" Trump called Sally Yates a "c***" Hope Hicks and Corey Lewandowski had an affair that ended in a street fight and Trump's inner circle walks around in a state of "queasy sheepishness, if not constant incredulity" at the president's behavior.
